Tritec Real Estate has acquired the first parcel for the Ronkonkoma Hub project, according to company officials.
Tritec principal Robert Coughlan said a deal to purchase 8.2 acres from Oakland Fence was finalized Monday.
He declined to reveal the purchase price for the site at the corner of Railroad Avenue and Mill Street, citing a confidentiality agreement.

Every May during the 1900s, New York City residents returned to Bellport by the trainload to spend their summer at hotels along the bay, cottages, or boarding homes. White picket fences lined Bellport Lane, sailboats were moored at the Bellport docks, and the ferry transported beachgoers to Fire Island.

The state’s highest court has agreed to hear an appeal by the Village of Kings Point over its bid to use 5.4 acres within a park for a public works facility.
The New York State Court of Appeals, which took only 64 cases last year, agreed June 4 to hear the village’s appeal.
