The Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center in Riverhead is home to more than 5,000 animals, but on Saturday everyone was focused on just one kind: the shark.

Cops: Woman stole lobsters from Hauppauge Shop Rite

Suffolk police seek the public's help in identifying

Suffolk police this week released a surveillance photo of a woman sought in connection with the theft of lobsters from Shop Rite in Hauppauge.

On June 29, at about 12:53 p.m., the woman entered the grocery store at 335 Nesconset Hwy. and placed $65 worth of lobsters in a reusable bag and left the store without paying.

A rooster has taken coop underneath the platform at the Long Island Rail Road station in Bay Shore, and local commuters can’t stop clucking about their new feathered friend.

Brookhaven Town demolishes home, charges owner with violations

Brookhaven Town has torn down a Medford house for alleged safety violations.

The house, at 77 Whitepine Way, was razed on Tuesday because it was “unfit for human occupancy due to a collapsed ceiling, rotted main floor support, large holes in the side walls, interior walls blocked from garbage and debris restricting a clear egress,” town officials said Thursday in a news release.
