L.I.E. Wreck Injures Two in Dix Hills -- The Dix Hills Fire Department and Suffolk County Sheriff's units responded to an accident on the Long Island Expressway, after a Ford Taurus station wagon slammed into a tree. The crash occurred on the expressway's eastbound shoulder, west of Deer Park Avenue. The female driver and teenage male passenger were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment by the Dix Hills FD Rescue Squad. The crash caused some eastbound delays due to motorists rubber-necking.
