The divorced parents of actress Lindsay Lohan made a
brief appearance in a Nassau County courtroom yesterday over allegations that Michael Lohan has not had enough access to his two youngest children.
The hearing in Family Court in Westbury was adjourned to July 14 at the request of Patricia Latzman, the law guardian representing Aliana, 14, and Dakota, 11. Both children live in Merrick with Dina Lohan, Michael Lohan's ex-wife.
Family Court Judge Stacy Bennett said that both parties were cooperating to resolve the issue.
"I'm encouraged to hear that the parties and counsel are working at ways to repair the relationships between the children and the father," she said.
After the hearing, Dina Lohan's attorney, Eugene Russo of Hicksville, said, "Both love their children very much. They're doing what's best for their children."
"This is for the kids," Michael Lohan, 48, said while walking out of the courthouse after the hearing. "We accomplished everything we wanted."
Standing in the courthouse parking lot after the hearing, Dina Lohan, 45, declined to comment.
