Al Montoya was examined Thursday night for a possible head/neck injury, and there was no word on his condition Friday as the Islanders prepared to fly to Vancouver. He was scheduled to travel with the team as of early Friday afternoon. Montoya made 47 saves in the 4-3 overtime loss to the Avalanche in Denver and was run into three times by Avalanche players. Neither headless nor heedless, goalie Rick DiPietro has returned from his latest concussion. He went through a full practice with the Islanders on Wednesday and flew with the team to Florida for its two-day road trip, against Tampa on Thursday and on Florida Saturday.
