Two KHL games that were supposed to be played in late January at Barclays Center in Brooklyn are kaput.
According to Shawn McBride, a spokesperson for the league in the U.S., there was "really strong feedback from fans of the teams who were to be playing in Brooklyn that they wanted these late-season games in Russia."

Lost in the wash of the Islanders-to-Brooklyn news yesterday lurked the real possibility of more NHL games being scrapped. I wrote about it while I was speaking to dozens of long-time Islanders fans on Long Island who shudder at the impending loss of the local club.
