Daisuke Matsuzaka is a starting pitcher for the MLB's Boston Red Sox. Originally from Japan, Matsuzaka played for the Seibu Lions in Japan's Pacific League before pursuing a career in Major League Baseball. He was signed to the Red Sox in 2006, and made his first regular season start on April 5, 2007 against the Kansas City Royals. In his first season with the Red Sox, Matsuzaka had 32 starts, 204.2 innings, and 201 strikeouts while finishing 3rd with 15 wins.
