As she approaches her 70th birthday Friday, Bridgehampton supermodel Christie Brinkley says that while she “remains open” to a new romantic relationship, she is content without one.

“There just doesn't seem to be anybody out there,” Brinkley expressed to People magazine in an interview posted Monday. “At the same time,” she noted, “I am pretty comfortable with my life the way it is, so, que será, será!” — a Spanish phrase popularized by the 1956 Doris Day song “Que Sera, Sera,” meaning, “What will be, will be.”

“I always said my whole life that I think that you have to be happy alone,” she added, “so that you get with a man for the right reasons and you're not clinging to him because you need to, you know?”

The three-time Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model has been single since the last of her four divorces. Brinkley was married to French illustrator Jean-François Allaux from 1974 to 1981; Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and fellow Long Islander Billy Joel from 1985 to 1994; real estate developer Ricky Taubman from 1994 to 1995; and architect Peter Cook from 1996 to 2008. She has an adult child each from her last three husbands.

In addition to her ongoing modeling career, Brinkley has business ventures including her organic wine band, Bellissima, and a lifestyle and apparel brand, TWRHLL, in partnership with Xcel Brands. She is also brand ambassador for the Ryze brand of mushroom coffee, a type using “adaptogenic” mushrooms said to reduce stress.

And she continues to plan for the future, she says, including far-flung travel. “I still have to see India,” she told People. “I’ve never been to Tahiti or Thailand. I want to go to Bali also. I’ve got to do an eat, pray, love,” she said, a reference to Elizabeth Gilbert’s 2006 bestselling memoir, “Eat Pray Love,” made into a 2010 movie, about a divorced woman leaving behind her suburban family life to live for a year in Italy, India and Indonesia.

In an Instagram post to promote the interview, Brinkley wrote, “I still have a few days left of my Sexy Sixties before I dance into my Sensational Seventies on February 2nd, but I already know it’s going to be a spectacular year! I know because that’s my plan and I’m old enough to know that it’s up to me to make sure of it! I always used to say to my kids go out and make it a great day and now I’m saying to myself that I’m gonna make it a great year!”
