Restaurant showcases aren't a rarity on Long Island, but the 26th annual Culinary Delights boasts an unusually robust lineup. On April 15, nearly 50 eateries and purveyors from Glen Cove and its surrounding towns will gather at The Mansion at Glen Cove (built as an estate for the Pratt family in 1910 and, subsequently, a supporting player in Hollywood Golden Age movies such as “North by Northwest” and “Sabrina”).

Among the establishments offering samples: Dominik’s Tacos, El Tazumal, Jeanine’s American Bistro, La Bussola, St. Rocco’s Bakery, Tocolo Cantina and Umberto’s of Glen Cove; The Brass Rail and Buckram Stables of Locust Valley; COCO Confections & Coffee and Foster Restaurant, of Sea Cliff; Ernesto’s East, Gemelli’s Gourmet Market North and Season Bistro, of Glen Head; Dortoni Bakery, of East Norwich; Mahal, of East Hills; Schultzy’s, of Bayville. There will be live music and guests will receive a map noting the location of participating businesses.

The event’s host, the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce, will honor five of the city’s longtime culinary icons: Carlo Lubrano, of La Bussola, Edward Villatoro, of El Tazumal, Pat Marone, of The Regency at Glen Cove, Peter Morra, of Glen Cove Beer Distributors and Jeanine DiMenna, who recently closed The View Grill at the Glen Cove Golf Course. She will preview the menu at her soon-to-open new restaurant, Jeanine's American Bistro on Glen Cove Avenue.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to Nosh Delivers, a food pantry and delivery service (last year's event raised $4,000) as well as to charities designated by the six honorees.
