Gregorys Coffee opens in Roosevelt Field

Gregorys Coffee, which launched in 2006 on 24th and Park Ave. in Manhattan, has added Roosevelt Field to its growing list of Long Island locations. The brand opened a lush, garden-themed coffee kiosk at the Uniondale mall on Friday, with founder Gregory Zamfotis, the man behind the logo, serving as a temporary barista.
This is the third Gregorys Coffee location on Long Island — the Melville and Deer Park shops opened in 2021 — and the chain's first in a mall setting.
“It’s a whole different thing,” Zamfotis explained, adding that his father owned a food business in a New Jersey mall when Zamfotis was a kid. “That’s where I, sort of, cut my teeth on food. When I was in high school, I was making sandwiches at his shop in the Freehold Raceway Mall. This feels something like a throwback to that. It’s really cool.”

Having spent part of his childhood in Smithtown, Zamfotis was aware of Roosevelt Field’s draw. “This is such an iconic mall. If you’re in the tristate area, there’s two or three different malls that everyone knows about, and this is one of them, so we’re super proud to be here.”
Coffee drinks, from house drips ($3.45) to lattes ($5.05) to cold brews ($4.65), are complemented by fruity refreshers ($5.65) in flavors like strawberry hibiscus and mango chili. Something a little different: Honey Badger iced coffee made with almond milk and honey, or the Fall Oat Boy, an espresso-based hot drink with cinnamon, vanilla, maple syrup, hazelnut and oat milk.
Gregorys is known for keeping its coffee fresh — made every 30 minutes — its pastries are baked in-house and its menu includes plant-based meals like vegan burritos and avocado toast.
The new location is on the first floor of the mall, in the wing anchored by J.C. Penny’s, in a large, center kiosk across from American Eagle.
