Security will be increased Tuesday at East Broadway Elementary School in Seaford because of an alleged unspecified threat by a student, said Principal Jordan Margolis in a message to parents Monday night.

Margolis said school officials reported the threat to the Nassau County Police Department, adding, “We take all threats seriously."

Late Monday, the police had no additional information on the incident.

In a follow-up message to parents Monday, Margolis said police had investigated the threat and deemed it "not credible."

In his initial message to parents, Margolis had said there would be additional security at the school Tuesday "in an abundance of caution."

The school is part of the Levittown Union Free School District and serves kindergarteners through fifth graders.
