Jaquan Carlos had a Hofstra-record 19 assists and Darlinstone Dubar scored 10 of his 24 points during a second-half run that extended a 14-point lead to 29 as Hofstra defeated Northeastern, 82-62, on Saturday at Mack Sports Complex.

Dubar triggered the 18-3 burst with a three-pointer and capped it with a jumper with 3:10 left, giving the Pride (16-11, 9-5 Coastal Athletic Association) an 80-51 lead.

Carlos had only five points but led the Pride with eight rebounds. His 19 assists are a conference single-game record.

The Pride have won four of their last five and eight of 10 and rebounded from Thursday’s two-point loss at Drexel by shooting 56.1%, including 48.1% (13-for-27) on three-pointers.

German Plotnikov had 20 points and Tyler Thomas added 18 for the Pride, who built an 11-point halftime lead behind brief surges of 9-3 and 9-2.

Luka Sakota scored 13 points to lead the Huskies (10-17, 5-9).

Hofstra moved into a tie for fourth place in the 14-team CAA and will host third-place Drexel on Thursday.

Monmouth 84, Stony Brook 61: Nikita Konstantynovskyi had 22 points and 20 rebounds for host Monmouth (15-12, 8-6 CAA), which put the game away with a 14-2 run to open the second half after an 8-0 run near the end of the first half.

Tyler Stephenson-Moore had 16 points and five rebounds for the Seawolves (14-13, 7-7). Keenan Fitzmorris added 13 points and two blocks. Aaron Clarke had 11 points and five assists.

Stony Brook shot only 34.9%, including 18.2% (4-for-22) on three-pointers.

Jaret Valencia scored 17 points and Cornelius Robinson Jr. had 16 for the Hawks.

The Seawolves have slipped into eighth place in the CAA and will host North Carolina A&T on Thursday.
