Hofstra softball’s Julia Apsel threw a perfect game in a 1-0 win over Hampton Saturday in Hempstead. She struck out eight on 83 pitches to lead Hofstra (18-23). It was her 15th victory, and eighth shutout.

Elon 9, Stony Brook 7: Anne Kupinski went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and two RBIs while Alicia Orosco went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run for host Stony Brook (31-14). The loss ended Stony Brook’s program-record 18-game winning streak.

BASEBALL

Monmouth 11, Stony Brook 7: Ryan Micheli went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs while Matthew Wright went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs for visiting Stony Brook (22-18).

Hofstra 14, North Carolina A&T 4: Steve Harrington, Alex McCoy, Will Kennedy and Penn Sealey all finished with three hits to lead host Hofstra (16-27). Carlos Martinez allowed three unearned runs on four hits and a walk over seven innings, striking out seven.

LIU 11, Delaware State 10: Noah Sorensen’s walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth caped a 10-run comeback for host LIU (21-18). LIU trailed 10-1 midway through, but two runs in the sixth, five in the seventh and three in the ninth allowed it to complete the comeback.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

Adelphi 21, Southern New Hampshire 15: Kelly-Ann McGrath scored five goals, added two assists and picked up 13 draw controls to lead Adelphi (14-2) to a conference home win

USMMA 14, Manhattanville 7: Lauren Jablonowski totaled three goals and three assists while Leslie Wysong added three goals and two assists to lead USMMA (11-2) to a conference road win.
