Four Long Island universities will play in the postseason with a chance to claim a national lacrosse title.

Stony Brook and LIU earned automatic bids into the NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse tournament by winning their conference tournaments on Saturday.

The Seawolves, who will be making their 11th straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament, collected their second straight CAA title by defeating Drexel, 9-6. The Sharks secured the first NEC championship in program history by beating Sacred Heart, 10-7.

The teams’ postseason opponents became official Sunday night during the NCAA’s selection show. The Seawolves (17-2) will play Niagara (16-3) in a first-round matchup on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Syracuse. The winner will face third-seeded Syracuse (14-5) in the second round Sunday.

LIU (11-7), making its first NCAA Tournament appearance, will face No. 5 Virginia (14-4) in Charlottesville at 3 p.m. Friday. The winner will play Florida (17-2) or North Carolina (10-6) on Sunday.

MEN

Adelphi (14-2) was announced as the top seed in the NCAA Division II men’s tournament. The Panthers capped their perfect conference season (9-0) by winning the program’s fifth Northeast-10 title on Saturday with a 10-9 victory over Saint Anselm College. Adelphi earned a first-round bye and will take on the winner of the game between Mercyhurst (13-4) and Pace (12-3) on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Farmingdale State punched its ticket to the NCAA Division III tournament on Friday when the Rams won their first conference title by defeating Maritime, 12-11, in the Skyline Conference championship game. Late Sunday night, it was announced that Farmingdale State will visit St. Mary’s College of Maryland (13-6) in a first-round game on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The winner will face Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (16-2) in the second round on Saturday.
