Stony Brook women’s basketball head coach Ashley Langford stepped down to accept the head coaching position at Tulane, the Seawolves announced on Tuesday morning. Langford guided Stony Brook to a 69-24 record and two national postseason berths in her three-year tenure.

The Seawolves are coming off one of the best seasons in program history, finishing with a 28-5 overall record and 16-2 in the CAA. Langford earned her first CAA Coach of the Year honor and guided the program to its first regular-season CAA title. Stony Brook advanced to the CAA tournament championship game, but missed out on the automatic NCAA bid with a loss to Drexel. The Seawolves beat James Madison in the first round of the inaugural WBIT, securing the program's first national postseason win.
