Diverse Technology Solutions Inc., an Islip Terrace-based cloud data hosting firm that services small- to medium-sized businesses in the Northeast, has acquired Voitual, an Internet phone service provider based in Delray Beach, Florida.

Diverse Technology, which has been in business for nearly 20 years and has 20 employees on Long Island, hosts data and applications on the cloud as a way to lower costs for companies. The service provider expects revenue to reach $10 million this year as a result of the deal. The financial terms were not disclosed.

“We’re pretty excited about the merger,” said Clayton Hart, chief executive of Diverse Technology Solutions. “Now, we have a very broad footprint in the Southeast.”

Hart said the deal allows his company to offer several cloud- and Internet-based services “under one roof,” giving it the opportunity to sell its data hosting services to existing Voitual customers.

The company will also get Voitual’s intellectual property and hardware associated with its phone service. It will retain the company’s 12 employees, who will remain in Florida. The deal closed in March.
