People on the Move: Long Island promotions, new jobs

James Mooney, of Islip Terrace, has been hired as a geologist I at D&B Engineers and Architects in Woodbury. Mooney is a recent graduate of the SUNY Oswego in Oswego.

Mojgan Masuomi, of Sayville, has been hired as director of marketing at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman in East Meadow. Masuomi was a marketing and communication lead at Elecnor Hawkeye and Elecnor Belco both in Hauppauge.

Dr. Louis Scotti, of Nesconset, owner an podiatrist of All Island Footcare in Nesconset, has been appointed president of the Suffolk County Council, Boy Scouts of America in Farmingville.

Nyrekia White, of Westbury, has been hired as director of development at the Long Island Children's Museum in Garden City. White was director of advancement and strategic partnerships at the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County in Commack.

Dr. L. Carlos Zapata, of Plainview, an attending physician in the department of emergency medicine at Northwell Health, LIJ Forest Hills, LIJ Medical Center and LIJ Valley Stream, has been elected vice speaker of the Medical Society of the State of New York in Westbury.

Nafisa Ahmed, of Floral Park (Nassau), has been hired as an associate at Moritt Hock & Hamroff in Garden City.  Ahmed was an associate at Einbinder & Dunn in Manhattan.

John Ryan, of Floral Park (Nassau), has been hired as an associate attorney in the litigation department of Morici & Morici in Garden City. Ryan is a recent graduate of St. John's University School of Law in Jamaica, Queens and recently been admitted to practice.

Jackie Savage of East Islip, an account manager at Epoch 5 Public Relations in Huntington, has been promoted to vice president.

Michael Brignoni, of Holtsville, as been hired as an engineer II, wastewater at D&B Engineers & Architects in Woodbury. Brignoni was project engineer at P.W. Grosser Consulting in Bohemia.

Al Colanero, of Medford, has been hired as a tax principal at Sasserath & Co. in Ronkonkoma. Colanero was a principal at LaMarco, Baron, Orbuch & Company in Islandia.

Julia Lanotte, of Sea Cliff, has been hired as a marketing assistant at PH Consulting & Media in Garden City. Lanotte was a summer intern working as a PA and stylist at the firm and a recent graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Nicole Hecker, of Dix Hills, has been hired as an associate attorney in the litigation department at Morici & Morici in Garden City. Hecker is a recent graduate of The Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in Hempstead and she served as managing editor of  articles for Family Court Review.

Victoria Hogan, of Stony Brook, has been hired as assistant principal of Commack Middle School. Hogan was district-wide instructional leader in the Mineola Union Free School District.

Melissa Jones, of Mastic Beach, has been hired as a PR and communications coordinator at Discover Long Island in Hauppauge. Jones was a recent graduate from Stony Brook University, winter of 2023.

Stacy Black, of Plainview, has been hired as a senior project manager at Discover Long Island in Hauppauge. Black was director of digital projects and operations at AMC Networks in Manhattan.

Nolan Santo, of Glen Cove, has been hired as a digital marketing and analytics manager at Discover Long Island in Hauppauge. Santo was a junior digital marketing specialist at Modaramo Media in Port Washington.

Matthew Kane, of Mount Sinai, has been hired as a partnership and events coordinator at Discover Long Island in Hauppauge. Kane was a game logger at MLB Network in Secaucus, New Jersey.

Colleen Guirand, of Bay Shore, has been hired as a communications specialist at Long Island Cares, Inc. in Hauppauge. Guirand was a digital marketing assistant at Bedgear in Farmingdale.

Danielle R. Molaison, of Garden City, has been hired as vice president development at Cord Meyer Development in Forest Hills, Queens. Molaison was director of development at AvalonBay Communities in Melville.

Jared Grasso, of Plainview, has been hired as director of athletic advancement and recruitment and head coach of varsity and PG (point guard) boys basketball at The Knox School in St. James. Grasso was a basketball coach at Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island.

Jenny Schaeffer, of Port Jefferson, has been hired as chief programs and network officer at Island Harvest Food Bank in Melville. Schaeffer was vice president of programs at Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano in Concord, California.

Dennis Siry, of Amityville, Village of Amityville Mayor, has been appointed president of the Suffolk County Village Officials Association (SCVOA) in Huntington.

William M. Manger, of Southampton Village, mayor of the Village of Southampton, has been elected secretary/treasurer of the executive board of the Suffolk County Village Officials Association (SCVOA) in Huntington.

Alexa Neo, of Plainview, has been hired as midday host at 103.1 The Wolf in Farmingdale. Neo was an on-air personality at WBAB/WBLI in West Babylon.

Lance P. Burke, of Medford, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Hanover Bank in Mineola, has been appointed to the board of directors of the YMCA of Long Island in Glen Cove.

Serda Urganciyan, of Oyster Bay, has been hired as a partner and chief executive at Studio 88 Architecture in Garden City. Urganciyan was a project executive at The Lemle & Wolff Companies in Manhattan.

Philip A. Butler, of Merrick, has been hired as a partner in the land use and zoning group at Forchelli Deegan Terrana in Uniondale. Butler was counsel at Farrell Fritz in Hauppauge.

Chris Kutner, of Rockville Centre, a partner at Rivkin Radler in Uniondale, has been appointed to the President's Advisory Council at Molloy University in Rockville Centre.
