Nassau County is looking for inventors to present their ideas at a July 30 meeting of the county’s new Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club.

The inventors’ showcase is a first for Nassau; Suffolk County has held several recently.

The Nassau inventors’ group began in January and is sponsored by the county’s Industrial Development Agency. Nicholas Terzulli, the agency’s business development director, and club president Brian Fried worked on its establishment. Fried started a similar group in Suffolk about five years ago.

“We are looking for actual products or working prototypes that can be shown to the public, not plans or drawings,” Fried said. He said inventors should have secured intellectual property protection for their creations before making a presentation.

Twelve inventors will be featured at the meeting, to be held from 7 to 9 p.m. in the ceremonial chambers of the Theodore Roosevelt County Executive and Legislature Building in Mineola. Admission is free.

A Suffolk event is slated for Tuesday between 7 and 9 p.m. in the H. Lee Dennison County Office Building in Hauppauge.

Inventors wishing to participate in either meeting should email Fried at BrianFried@gmail.com with their name, hometown, invention description, website address and telephone number. Fried will select the presenters.
