Wainscott compound features stand-alone spa building

Every day can be a Roman spa day at this 2.24-acre Wainscott compound listed for $19.995 million.

A stand-alone spa building includes a hot, steamy caldarium, a radiant-heat tepidarium with a heated stone bench, a sauna and soft sauna, and a treatment room with a massage table. There is also a great room with a fireplace and balcony, a kitchen and a bedroom. A Jacuzzi and a cold-plunge pool serving the role of a frigidarium are outside.

The spa getaway is one of four structures on the estate, which has 12 bedrooms, 12.5 baths and about 12,000 square feet of living space, says Elaine Stimmel of Saunders & Associates, who is listing the property with Diane Saatchi.

Set on about an acre of the compound, the main 5,800-square-foot home features a great room with high ceilings and imported wood floors. There is a living room with a fireplace and a formal dining room, a family room, and a library with pocket doors.

A first-floor master suite includes a full bath, a sitting area with a fireplace and French doors to the property. Three bedroom suites are on the second floor. Manicured grounds include a 60-foot long heated gunite pool, a pool house and a two-car detached garage.

The neighboring guesthouse, completed in 2014, is set on about 1.25 acres containing an English-style courtyard with a vine-covered arbor, an antique fountain and plantings of lavender and boxwood. Four first-floor bedroom suites are next to a great room with a formal dining room and fireplace.
