HBO Max has renewed the "Sex and the City" sequel series "And Just Like That…" for a second season.

The streaming service did not give a production start date or a season-premiere time frame in its announcement Tuesday.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis will continue to reprise their respective roles as Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York, in the comedy-drama about New York City career women navigating personal and professional lives in their 50s.

"Season 2. Thank you to our audience. Plain and simple," wrote Parker, who turns 57 on Friday, on Instagram. "You are our heartbeat. We love you so."

Executive producer Michael Patrick King said in a statement, "I am delighted and excited to tell more stories about these vibrant, bold characters — played by these powerful, amazing actors. The fact is, we're all thrilled. And Just like That … our Sex life is back."

The original 1998-2004 HBO series, which spawned sequel movies in 2008 and 2010, won the Emmy Award for outstanding comedy series in 2001.
