Would you rather have two BFFs (best friend forever) or 100 friends? Well, that’s the question we asked some fifth-graders in Vanderbilt Elementary School in Dix Hills. Here is what we found out:

2 BFFs: 52

100 friends: 8

In total, 60 kids voted. As you can see, a best friend was more important to kids than a lot of friends.

We asked them to explain their preferences. Some kids said they would rather have two best friends because if they had 100 friends, then they would never know whom to trust. Others said they would rather have 100 friends so they could play with someone different each day.

Which one would you pick?
