Looking for ways to make better use of your iPad or iPhone? Here are a few tips:

If you need to tell someone something that is too long to type or you can't call them at the moment, you can make an audio message. Before you start typing any messages, click the little microphone in the right-hand corner where it normally says send. Then press and hold the microphone and start leaving your message. Do not let go because you cannot add more to that recording and you would have to make another one. When you are done, click the little arrow on top to send. To keep it, click the keep button on the bottom.

Take a closer look at anything on your phone. With the newer iPhones, double tap with three fingers and a magnifying glass will appear. To turn it on, you need to go to settings and go into accessibility, then general, then go into zoom. Then you can use the magnifying glass to take a better look at something on your phone.

The next trick is that you can respond to a call with a text. Click the button that says message. You can either use one that is already there or you can customize your own. To create your own, go into settings, then go into phone. Finally go to respond with a text and write whatever you want.

Using AirDrop. AirDrop is when you can share a picture, video or a document. You are only able to share with people close by. Click the button that is a box with an arrow coming out of it, then tap the person you want to share it with. Then wait for them to approve of what you are sending them, and then they will have the picture, video or document that you sent them.

Reachability. This only works on the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6+. Double tap the home button -- not a double click. Then you can swipe through all of your pages with less struggle.
