Last year our school year kicked off with an amazing assembly as Legislator Judy Jacobs and Assemblyman Charles Lavine joined us in honoring local heroes in remembrance of Sept. 11, 2001.

Parkway School's third- and fourth-graders, along with their teachers, had an opportunity to talk to a number of veterans that day. The veterans shared some of their adventurous journeys as they helped protect our country. Sept. 11 is a very sad day and should be remembered for all the sacrifices the courageous men and women made on that fateful morning. Students at Parkway School were all born after Sept. 11, 2001, and are eager to learn about what happened on that horrifying day.
