On Aug. 13 Wantagh firefighters were dispatched to the lot just after 6 p.m. where they discovered the buses engulfed in flames, Nassau County Assistant Fire Marshal James Hickman told Newsday at the time.

The buses, which were out of service, were in a back lot and parked close together, he said. Nassau County police said the fire was isolated to the bus lot. Three fire departments responded with crews battling the blaze for about an hour. No injuries were reported.

The unnamed defendant was to be arraigned later Thursday in First District Court, 99 Main St., in Hempstead.
