A Patchogue woman was held at gunpoint and tied up as her home was burglarized in a home invasion early Saturday, Suffolk County police said.

Police said the woman, 34, told them she was in her bedroom at a house on Shaber Road when she heard a noise at the back door about 3:55 a.m. A Suffolk police spokeswoman said the back door to the apartment — which is a unit in a house — was unlocked.

When the woman went to investigate, two people wearing ski masks forced her back inside, pointed a gun at her head and tied her hands with a cellphone charger cord, police said. The two robbers took cash and personal items before fleeing.

Police said they were investigating and had not confirmed the gender of the burglars.
