Fires at Commack park intentionally set, police say

Suffolk police are investigating two fires intentionally set at a Commack park last week, the department said.
Police said on Nov. 2, a fire was started inside the drain pipe in a restroom at Whitman Hollow Park at 1000 Map Lane.

A second fire was set in a pipe in the same restroom on Nov. 6 or 7.
Police said both fires caused minor damage. No injuries were reported.
Suffolk County police and members of Smithtown Public Safety, who patrol the park, will remain on alert in the park, police said.
