Dorothy Ferme, born Feb. 23, 1908, in Camden, N.J., is the remaining living sibling of three children. After graduating from high school, she met and married Joseph Ferme, now deceased. They moved to Long Island and began the Ferme Oil business in Central Islip where they worked until retirement. She has a son, Joseph, and daughter-in-law, Ann, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In June 2000, she moved to Little Flower for Rehabilitation & Nursing in East Islip. She celebrated her birthday there with a party planned by her family.
