Memorial Day parades and ceremonies on Long Island

Memorial Day, also known as Decoration Day, was first celebrated in the mid-19th century as a way to honor those who died during the Civil War. Since expanded to include all who have died in American wars, it was declared a national holiday in 1971. Communities across Long Island will mark the day with parades, services and other events.

SUNDAY, MAY 26

CEDARHURST-LAWRENCE
