For Nassau and western Suffolk, there’s an elevated risk through 7 p.m. for the spread of brushfires, the National Weather Service said in a special statement. That’s due to wind gusts up to 25 mph, drying fuel sources and relative humidity values of 20 to 30 percent, the service said.

He said there’s a chance of rain Friday, but Easter Sunday will be dry.
Clouds continue Wednesday night and into Thursday. Overnight lows in the mid 40s give way to a breezy Thursday with highs expected in the mid to upper 50s.
Rain is also in the forecast, the weather service said, for Thursday night into Friday.
