The Nassau County Republican Committee transferred $150,000 to Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray during the final days of her failed bid for district attorney, the latest state filings show.

Acting District Attorney Madeline Singas, a Democrat, who defeated Murray by 16 percentage points Nov. 3, significantly outraised her in the campaign’s final 12 days.

The Nassau County Republican Committee transferred $150,000 to Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray during the final days of her failed bid for district attorney, the latest state filings show.

Acting District Attorney Madeline Singas, a Democrat, who defeated Murray by 16 percentage points Nov. 3, significantly outraised her in the campaign’s final 12 days.

Singas raised $372,000, including $25,000 from Jonathan Soros, the son of liberal billionaire George Soros; $2,000 from Home Depot founder Kenneth Langone and $17,000 from Nassau Democratic Party chairman Jay Jacobs. The political action committee of Cablevision, Newsday’s parent company, gave Singas $3,000.

Beyond the GOP transfers, Murray raised $78,000, including $3,000 from Cablevision’s PAC and $5,000 from former Nassau County Executive Tom Gulotta’s committee.
