A section of the Long Island Expressway in Islip will be closed overnight for three days starting Wednesday for a bridge cleaning project, according to a state Department of Transportation advisory.

The LIE will be closed between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, westbound between Exits 57 and 56; on Thursday, April 25, westbound between Exits 55 and 53; and on Friday, April 26, eastbound between Exits 53 and 57.

Traffic will be detoured onto the service roads.

In Nassau County, concrete repairs will intermittently shut down a stretch of Jericho Turnpike in Old Westbury and Oyster Bay beginning Monday, April 22. The lane and shoulder closures are expected to take place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays between Hillside Avenue and Brush Hollow Road in both directions. These closures are expected to continue until the fall.
