Mayor: Firefighter from LI dies fighting NYC blaze
Police say a firefighter who was injured while battling a warehouse fire in Brooklyn had died.
New York mayor Michael Bloomberg identified the dead firefighter as Richard Nappi, and said he was from Suffolk.

New York mayor Michael Bloomberg identified the dead firefighter as Richard Nappi, and said he was from Suffolk.
Officials say the fire broke out on the second floor of a building on Flushing Avenue in Bushwick at about 1 p.m. Monday.
The critically injured firefighter was taken to Woodhull Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A second firefighter was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition. Four other firefighters received minor injuries.
Officials say 168 firefighters responded to the 3-alarm fire, which was declared under control just before 4 p.m. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
