HOUSTON - The Mets scratched Carlos Beltran from Saturday's lineup because of a swollen right eye.

Beltran, who hit three home runs on Thursday, said he woke up with a puffy eye and wasn't sure how it happened. He was given eye drops by Mets trainer Ray Ramirez and was scheduled to see the Astros' team doctor.

"I just woke up feeling like there was something in my eye," he said. "Maybe I scratched it during the night. It just burns."

Beltran was replaced in the lineup by Fernando Martinez, who hit a pinch hit home run in the Mets' 6-4 win on Friday night.
