Alan Hahn's NBA mock draft for lottery picks

NBA Mock Draft

1. Washington Wizards - John Wall, PG (Kentucky)

The best player in the draft and arguably only potential superstar of this mediocre class. It's only a matter of time before he makes Gilbert Arenas obsolete.

2. Philadelphia 76ers - Evan Turner, SG (Ohio State)

Versatile talent who is more comfortable at the point, but 76ers already have Jrue Holiday and so they'll try to grow a very young backcourt.

3. Nets - Wesley Johnson, SF (Syracuse)

A very athletic wing player whose game will translate better at the NBA level, plus allows Nets to move troublesome Chris Douglas-Roberts.

4. Minnesota Timberwolves - Derrick Favors, PF (Georgia Tech)

You never know what GM David Kahn has up his sleeve, such as trading Kevin Love. Drafting Favors allows that.

5. Sacramento Kings - DeMarcus Cousins, C (Kentucky)

The enigmatic Cousins comes with a lot of red flags because of his attitude, but his size and great potential is alluring and hard to pass up.

6. Golden State Warriors - Greg Monroe, PF/C (Georgetown)

Nellieball calls for bigs to be able to rebound, outlet, make smart passes and face up to the basket and Monroe has the high basketball IQ to fit.

7. Detroit Pistons - Ed Davis, PF (North Carolina)

So much potential, but still has a ways to go to reach it. This troubled franchise might not be the best place for him to go, but they can't pass on him here.

8. Los Angeles Clippers - Al-Farouq Aminu, SF (Wake Forest)

Will be a bit of a project, but provides defensive potential and a high motor on a team that already has Blake Griffin, Chris Kaman and Baron Davis.

9. Utah Jazz - Cole Aldrich, C (Kansas)

They'd prefer Monroe to fall, but Jazz need someone who can score in the post and Mehmet Okur's Achilles injury is a concern. Aldrich is a prototypical Jazz big.

10. Indiana Pacers - Ekpe Udoh, PF/C (Baylor)

Active, athletic big with a ridiculous wingspan (7-5) who, with workaholic Tyler Hansbrough, could soon make the Pacers a hard team to handle in the paint.

11. New Orleans Hornets - Patrick Patterson, PF (Kentucky)

Efficient, smart and versatile big man who is willing to be part of a team-concept and gives Hornets needed size and athleticism.

12. Memphis Grizzlies - Luke Babbitt, SF (Nevada)

The Grizz are likely to lose Rudy Gay via free agency and need a versatile wingman to take his place, though they're very different players.

13. Toronto Raptors - Avery Bradley, PG (Texas)

Raptors are trying to move Jarrett Jack before the draft and will need a backup point guard who can defend and score.

14. Houston Rockets - James Anderson, SG (Oklahoma State)

Hamstring injury impacted workouts, but this high-flyer has the most upside of anyone left on the board and that's what Houston is looking for.
