As for Osi Umenyiora’s knee injury, it kept him off the field today. Coughlin called it “wear and tear”. He said that he hopes to have both Umenyiora and Hakeem Nicks back on the practice field tomorrow. Aaron Ross was scheduled to practice fully today and was on the field for the portion of the workout we saw. Tom Coughlin agreed that he will be an integral part of the Giants’ pass defense this week.

It also appeared that Michael Johnson was not at practice today. He missed practice last Wednesday for personal reasons, and that could be the situation again today.

We noted the surprises on the injury report. Here are some surprises that were NOT on the report: Chris Canty and Shaun O’Hara. Definitely a very good sign for the Giants.
