Long Island hires and promotions: Kelly Matera, Newsday Media Group

Kelly Matera of Lake Grove, supervisor in transportation at Newsday Media Group in Melville, has been promoted to manager, transportation.

Adam Weinstein of Setauket has joined Charter Communications Inc. in Stamford, Connecticut, as senior vice president of programming acquisition. He had a similar position at Cablevision Systems Corp. in Bethpage.

ARCHITECTURE

H2M architects + engineers in Melville has five new hires.

Meg Smiley of Port Jefferson has been hired as a graphic designer. She held the same position at Iowa State University.

Jack Mueger of Greenlawn has been hired as a staff engineer. He was an intern at E-J Electric Installation Co. in Long Island City.

Jessica Caccioppoli of Hicksville, formerly an intern for the firm, has been hired as a staff engineer.

Anders Brunelle of Brentwood has been hired as a construction inspector. He was an engineer at URS Corp. in Clifton, New Jersey.

Nadia Naim of Oakland Gardens, Queens, has been hired as a staff architect. She was a senior designer for Oyster Bay Drafting and Architecture.

LAW

Richard L. Blatt of Melville has been hired as senior counsel in commercial real estate at Abrams Garfinkel Margolis Bergson in Manhattan. He was in-house real estate counsel at Sleepy’s in Hicksville.

Alexi T. Poulianos of Port Jefferson has been hired as an associate in general liability at Goldberg Segalla in Garden City. He was an associate at Simmons Jannace DeLuca in Hauppauge.

HEALTH CARE

Reyna Machado of Garden City has been appointed assistant director of the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program at Adelphi University in Garden City. She was marketing services manager at HealthDay, a producer and syndicator of health news, in Melville.

Diego Chiarandini of Newtown, Connecticut, has been hired as assistant vice president of human resources at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola. He was human resources director for Yale New Haven Health System/Greenwich (Conn.) Hospital.

DEVELOPMENT

Lori LaPonte of Mount Sinai, a partner in the accounting firm of Jones, Little & Co. in Port Jefferson Station, has been appointed chief financial officer of the Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency in Farmingville.
