People on the Move: Long Island promotions, new jobs

Lance P. Burke, of Medford, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Hanover Bank in Mineola, has been appointed to the board of directors of the YMCA of Long Island in Glen Cove.

Serda Urganciyan, of Oyster Bay, has been hired as a partner and chief executive at Studio 88 Architecture in Garden City. Urganciyan was a project executive at The Lemle & Wolff Companies in Manhattan.

Philip A. Butler, of Merrick, has been hired as a partner in the land use and zoning group at Forchelli Deegan Terrana in Uniondale. Butler was counsel at Farrell Fritz in Hauppauge.

Sandip Singh, of Scarsdale, managing member of Aesop Advisors in Scarsdale, has been appointed to the board of directors of the YMCA of Long Island in Glen Cove.

Matthew Aboff, of Lloyd Harbor, owner and operator of Aboff's Paints in Huntington, has been appointed to the board of directors of the YMCA of Long Island in Glen Cove.

Courtney Riley, of East Moriches, principal/director of land development at VHB in Hauppauge, has been appointed to the board of directors of United States Green Building Council - Long Island Chapter (USGBC) in Huntington.  

John T. Ficarra, of Shirley, has been hired as an associate at Rivkin Radler in Uniondale. Ficarra was a senior tax associate at KPMG US in Manhattan.

Marilyn Pignataro, of Freeport, has been hired as an outreach relationship manager for the not-for-profit PALS SkyHope in Farmingdale. Pignataro was head of marketing and publicity for the Freeport Memorial Library.

Michael Zapson, of Long Beach, a partner at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman in East Meadow, has been appointed chairman of the Long Island Chapter of the New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) in Manhattan. 

Leston Welsh, of Rockville Centre, president of ShelterPoint Life Insurance Company in Garden City, has been promoted to chief executive officer.

Chris Kutner, of Rockville Centre, a partner at Rivkin Radler in Uniondale, has been appointed to the President's Advisory Council at Molloy University in Rockville Centre.

Michael Presti, of Commack, director of customer experience and marketing at PSEG Long Island in Melville, has been elected to the board of trustees of the Long Island Children's Museum in Uniondale.

Lauren Schnitzer, of Smithtown, has been hired as an education law attorney at Bond, Schoeneck & King in Melville. Schnitzer was an education law attorney at Lamb & Barnosky in Melville.

Dr. Justin Lundbye, of Fairfield, Conn., in the process of moving, has been hired as president of Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip. Lundbye was chief executive  at Waterbury Health in Waterbury, Conn.

Richard White, of Woodbury, chief executive of ShelterPoint Life Insurance Company in Garden City, has been promoted to chairman of the board of directors.

Peter Schimmel, of Bethpage, has been hired as a financial advisor and registered representative at Blue Ocean Wealth Solutions in East Hills. Schimmel is a recent graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, N.Y. 

Christopher Korolczuk, of Long Beach, has been hired as director, U.S. Department of Justice "Stop School Violence" program at Fordham University, The Center for Community Partnerships in Manhattan. Korolczuk was assistant director of regional schools and instructional programs at Nassau BOCES in Garden City.

Eugene R. Barnosky, of Huntington, has been hired as an education law attorney at Bond, Schoeneck & King in Melville. Barnosky was an education law attorney at Lamb & Barnosky in Melville.

Robert H. Cohen, of Plainview, has been hired as an education law attorney at Bond, Schoeneck & King in Melville. Cohen was an education law attorney at Lamb & Barnosky in Melville.

Don Tesoriero, of Huntington, principal of Tesori Ventures in Huntington and administrator, Incorporate Village of Northport, has been appointed the first executive director of The 1653 Foundation in Huntington.

Dr. Jessica Newburger, of Garden City, has been hired as a board-certified dermatologist at Greenberg Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology in Woodbury. Newburger was a dermatologist at Northwell Dermatology at Huntington.

Jesse Hiney, of Shoreham, has been hired as partner and chair of the environmental practice group at Forchelli Deegan Terrana in Uniondale. Hiney was counsel at Farrell Fritz in Uniondale.

Jason Huntsman, of Northport, has been hired as assistant superintendent for human resources in the South Country Central School District. Huntsman was assistant superintendent for administration in the Cold Spring Harbor School District.

Dr. A. Samer Al-Homsi, of Manhattan, has been hired as system chief of blood and marrow transplant and cellular therapy and director of faculty and academic affairs in medical oncology at Northwell Health Cancer Institute in Lake Success. Al-Homsi was executive director of transplantation and cellular therapy at Perlmutter Cancer Center at New York University Langone Health in Manhattan.

Meghan Schlosser, of Wantagh, a school counselor at Baldwin Senior High School in Baldwin, has been elected president of the Nassau Counselors' Association in West Islip. 

Christopher Guiffre, of Islip, a security consultant at Covert Investigations, Inc. in Holbrook, has been promoted to executive director.

Frank Cutrone, of Huntington, a vice president at USI Insurance Services in Uniondale, has been appointed to the Long Island Advisory Board for the Friends of Karen in Melville.

Nick Guariglia, of Mineola has been hired as an outreach manager at New York Offshore Wind Alliance in Albany, (works remotely). Guariglia was a managing director at Threshold Group, Inc. in Manhattan.

Christopher Kelly, of Ronkonkoma, vice president of marketing at TRITEC Real Estate Company in East Setauket, has been promoted to senior vice president of marketing.

Kerri Doherty, of Nesconset, an administrative assistant at TRITEC Real Estate Company in East Setauket, has been promoted to executive administrative assistant.

Kate Caporusso, of Merrick, has been hired as assistant superintendent for curriculum, instruction and personnel in the North Merrick School District. Caporusso was assistant principal at Merrick Avenue Middle School in Merrick.

Keith Macias, of Islip, a security consultant at Covert Investigations, Inc. in Holbrook, has been promoted to assistant vice president of training.

Bob Brown, of Islip, has been hired as compliance and development executive at Covert Investigations, Inc. in Holbrook. Brown was the former Suffolk County police chief of patrol.
