The body found one week ago in the waters of Little Neck Bay in Saddle Rock has been confirmed as that of a man who was reported missing from a luxury senior residence in Manhattan, the New York Police Department said Friday.

The body of Richard Appleby, 66, was spotted May 25 floating in the rear dock area behind a Bayport Lane North residence, Nassau County police and the NYPD said. There were no signs of foul play, Nassau police said.

Appleby was last seen May 24 at Atria West 86, a residence at 333 West 86th St., the NYPD said.

"When he didn't return from his morning walk as usual on Thursday, we immediately contacted local authorities," said Amy Schuster, spokeswoman for Atria Senior Living.
