A Glen Cove man faces a sexual-abuse charge, accused of inappropriately touching an employee at a Hicksville spa Jan. 6, Nassau County police said.

James A. Catanzano, 53, of 26 Jefferson St., was held on bail of $10,000 bond or $5,000 cash at his arraignment Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead on a charge of first-degree sexual abuse.

Police said Catanzano was being massaged by a female worker at the Red Bell Spa on Newbridge Road about 7 p.m. when he grabbed the woman's right arm and tried to make her touch him in a sexual manner.

He then got off the table, struggled with the woman and touched her in "an inappropriate sexual manner," police said.

The worker was able to leave the room and call police; Catanzano then fled "by unknown means," police said.
