The village of Great Neck Estates is seeking to restrict certain kinds of outdoor vehicles from being housed on residential property.

A public hearing to discuss the proposed local law, which applies to vehicles, boats, and motorized recreational equipment, has been adjourned to the July trustees meeting.

The law would not apply to registered noncommercial passenger vehicles, which are permitted in driveways. Outdoor vehicles, boats and more could be stored in side or rear yards, if adequately screened.

Similar restrictions had been considered or passed in other Long Island municipalities.

The hearing will be at 8 p.m. on July 11 at village hall, 4 Gateway Drive, in Great Neck.
