A Barnum Island man was arrested Monday and charged with stealing more than $125,000 worth of cardboard bales meant for recycling from a Lawrence supermarket, Nassau police said.

Warren Parke, 64, of 217 Kingston Blvd., was charged with second degree grand larceny, two counts of third degree criminal mischief, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Parke was captured on video on multiple occasions between April 1, 2011 and Feb. 16, 2012, loading the bales on to a box truck, police said. The bales belonged to Brach's Supermarket at 11 Lawrence Lane, police said. On one of the videos, Parke is shown backing up the truck up at 315 Central Ave. in Lawrence, striking and damaging a gate there, police said.

Parke was to be arraigned Tuesday in First District Court, Hempstead.
