A car fire briefly closed the northbound Meadowbrook State Parkway between the Southern State Parkway and Hempstead Turnpike on Wednesday morning, State Police said.

Nassau County fire officials said volunteers on two engines from the East Meadow Fire Department were dealing with the fire, reported at 9:49 a.m.

A car fire briefly closed the northbound Meadowbrook State Parkway between the Southern State Parkway and Hempstead Turnpike on Wednesday morning, State Police said.

Nassau County fire officials said volunteers on two engines from the East Meadow Fire Department were dealing with the fire, reported at 9:49 a.m.

The parkway reopened about 10:45 a.m., according to the state Department of Transportation website.

Police said there were no injuries reported -- and that the fire was not the result of an accident.
