Police said the driver of the vehicle was removed safely and no other injuries were reported. Additionally, police said, no charges had been filed.

Police said they are continuing to investigate how the 4:08 a.m. incident occurred. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Police said a split compartment leaked gas and diesel fuel onto the roadway which prompted officials to close the expressway in both directions from Bay Boulevard to Mott Avenue. One lane reopened Wednesday afternoon, but the other, police said, will remain closed for the duration of the cleanup.
