Nassau cop injured after patrol vehicle crash in Baldwin, police say
A Nassau County First Precinct officer was treated at a local hospital and released after he was pinned in his patrol SUV following a crash with another motorist Wednesday night in Baldwin, police said.
Police said the crash occurred at about 7:20 p.m. near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Church Street.

The officer, whose identity has not been released, was pinned in the marked patrol unit after it hit a utility pole at the driver-side door.
Photos from the scene show emergency responders working to free the officer in what was described by authorities as "a prolonged extrication."
Police said the other driver was not seriously injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said.
