When Leora Feigenbaum reached the Manhattan terminal Thursday to board New Jersey Transit bus No. 7174 on the 167T line, a Port Authority employee quickly took her to the front of the line.

Inside her bus, the 20-year-old Yeshiva University student was greeted by flowers and decorations - and her boyfriend, Adam Frohlinger, 21, holding an engagement ring.

"It was the cutest thing I'd ever seen," Port Authority spokeswoman Jen Friedberg said. "Literally everyone on the platform was cheering."

Frohlinger, of Woodmere, also a Yeshiva student, e-mailed the Port Authority March 1, asking if it could help him with his proposal plans. He wanted to surprise his fiancee, Friedberg said, and Frohlinger knew the last place she'd expect a marriage proposal was on the bus she takes regularly from Manhattan back to her home in Teaneck, N.J.

Friedberg said Port Authority officials agreed to Frohlinger's romantic request and needed about three weeks to complete the plans. "This kind of thing doesn't happen too often to us," she said.

The couple is extremely shy, Friedberg said, and did not respond to requests for interviews. The two met while working at a summer camp upstate two years ago, according to The Record of Bergen County, N.J.

Friedberg said Feigenbaum had a huge smile as she exited the bus. Of course, she said yes to Frohlinger's proposal. The couple is planning an August wedding, according to news reports.
