Nassau County police are seeking more information on an attempted robbery and assault of a 24-year-old man walking in Uniondale on Saturday morning.

Detectives said the victim was walking north on Uniondale Avenue at the intersection of Macon Place when two males approached him from behind just after midnight.

Nassau County police are seeking more information on an attempted robbery and assault of a 24-year-old man walking in Uniondale on Saturday morning.

Detectives said the victim was walking north on Uniondale Avenue at the intersection of Macon Place when two males approached him from behind just after midnight.

One of the males struck the victim with a branch while the other attempted to go through his pockets, police said.

The victim fought off the suspects and ran westbound on Macon Place. The suspects fled on foot southbound on Amsterdam Avenue. No property was taken, police said.

The victim suffered a small laceration but declined medical assistance at the scene.
