A Wantagh man pushing his disabled Toyota in his driveway was seriously injured Tuesday when the vehicle accidentally went into drive gear, Nassau police said.

The victim, 55, was pushing his 2000 Toyota out of his Frieda Lane driveway about 10:40 a.m. when the accidental gear shift left him trapped under the automobile, police said. His wife, 47, was in the driver's seat, police said.

A Wantagh man pushing his disabled Toyota in his driveway was seriously injured Tuesday when the vehicle accidentally went into drive gear, Nassau police said.

The victim, 55, was pushing his 2000 Toyota out of his Frieda Lane driveway about 10:40 a.m. when the accidental gear shift left him trapped under the automobile, police said. His wife, 47, was in the driver's seat, police said.

The victim suffered a fracture in his left leg, internal bleeding and multiple abrasions and contusions, police said. Police airlifted him to a hospital.

No crime appears to have been involved, police said. The couple's names and other details were not released.
