A group of West Babylon teenagers out for a ride ended up in Argyle Lake when the driver lost control on Trolley Line Road in Babylon Thursday morning, police said.

Suffolk County police said the crash occurred at 11:12 a.m.

One of the teens was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center for precautionary measures, police said. No one else in the group of six teens was injured.

A witness, T.C. McCarthy of Babylon, said the 1997 Ford Explorer wound up with the front portion of the sport utility vehicle submerged - and the rear tires out of the water.

The stereo was still blasting music, McCarthy said.

Police said no one was charged in the crash.

Police said the driver, Nicole Chambers, 18, of West Babylon, lost control, struck a tree and ended up in Argyle Lake. None of the other teens in the vehicle were identified but all were from West Babylon, police said.

Later a backhoe was brought in to help remove the Explorer from the lake using chains attached to its rear bumper.
