An early morning truck fire at a contractor’s storage yard in Baywood kept firefighters busy for about 2 1/2 hours Wednesday, but Suffolk County officials said those efforts helped contain the damage to just one truck.

An early morning truck fire at a contractor’s storage yard in Baywood kept firefighters busy for about 2 1/2 hours Wednesday, but Suffolk County officials said those efforts helped contain the damage to just one truck.

No one was injured.

The fire at the yard near the intersection of South Second Street and Cleveland Avenue was reported at about 1 a.m.

Volunteers from the Brentwood Fire Department responded to the scene and fire officials said the call was closed at 3:27 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
