A 62-year-old woman hit a pedestrian with her car Saturday evening in Lindenhurst and left the scene, only to return later to receive a ticket, Suffolk County police said.

The woman was driving a Toyota on North Wellwood Avenue and Fremont Street around 6 p.m. when she hit a female pedestrian and left the scene, police said.

A 62-year-old woman hit a pedestrian with her car Saturday evening in Lindenhurst and left the scene, only to return later to receive a ticket, Suffolk County police said.

The woman was driving a Toyota on North Wellwood Avenue and Fremont Street around 6 p.m. when she hit a female pedestrian and left the scene, police said.

The pedestrian with a head laceration was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, police said. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Police said that the driver then returned to the scene and police issued her a ticket for leaving the scene of an accident with an injury.

Police did not release the name of the driver or the victim.
